President Tinubu Inaugurates National Youth Confab Planning Committee

By Efa Sunday As Nigerian youths await the long anticipated National Youth Conference slated to hold in the first quarter of 2025, the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday inaugurated the conference planning committee.  Recall that President Tinubu had in an offshoot national broadcast of October 1 2024, which followed the uproar from the #EndBadGovernance organized and participated by many youths across the major cities across the country, promised to hold a National Youth Conference to address the challenges raised during the protest. On the heels of this development, President Tinubu while inaugurating the planning committee, charged them to take seriously the task of mobilizing youths from across the 774 local government areas, urging them to prioritize competence over political and religious affiliations. El- Rufai Dumps APC, Joins SDP

By Efa Sunday  The former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam El-Rufai has announced his resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and has officially joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Making the announcement on his verified facebook page @Nasir El-Rufai on Monday, on a post he tagged "Nigeria Update: Onward to the Future", cited some anomalies he has observed within the APC in the past two years, averring that the party's leaderships are recalcitrant about solving hence the need for him to join another political vehicle that is headed his direction and that share similar ideologies as his.  His post reads in full; "As a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I have fond memories of working with other compatriots to negotiate the merger of political parties that created the APC. Late Herbert Wigwe’s Family Accuses Business Partner Aigboje Of Withholding Monthly Parental Stipends Over Alleged Use For Lawsuit Against Him

By Efa Sunday The family of the late Access Bank CEO Herbert Wigwe has accused his business partner Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede of withholding their monthly parental stipends with an allegation of trying to stifle the lawsuit processes already filed against the business mogul. Wigwe, born on August 15, 1966, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, was a prominent Nigerian banker and businessman. He served as the Group Managing Director and CEO of Access Bank Plc, one of Nigeria’s leading banking institutions. On February 9, 2024, Wigwe, along with his wife Doreen and their 29-year-old son Chizi, died in a helicopter crash near Nipton, California. The family was en route from Palm Springs International Airport to Boulder City, Nevada, intending to attend Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. Fubara Talks Tough, ‘I Am Not Scared Of Impeachment’ Vows To Defend Rivers’ Interests

 By Efa Sunday  Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has addressed concerns over potential impeachment after a Supreme Court ruling on Friday recognized the 27 lawmakers aligned with former Governor Nyesom Wike.The Supreme Court ruled that the federal government should halt financial allocations to Rivers State until Governor Fubara presents the state budget to the group of lawmakers led by Martins Amaewhule, who are loyal to Wike. The lawmakers commended her leadership style and for bringing peace to the Lagos State House of Assembly. They also commended her strength and humility for obeying the rules and regulations of the All Progressives Congress. However, Obasa's re-election was declared in the House chamber on Monday after Speaker Moji Meranda stepped down, concluding weeks of internal conflicts within the assembly. Recall that Mr. Obasa had dismissed his impeachment as invalid, stating that it did not adhere to due process. He also assured that he would not retaliate against the over 30 state legislators who voted for his removal, emphasizing that they remain his brothers and sisters.
