Ex-Oyo Gov Ladoja Crowned As 44th Olubadan

By Efa Sunday  Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has officially been crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. Rashed Ladoja, a former Oyo State governor, received the crown at the Ose Meji Temple in the Ibadan South-East Local Government Area of the state, after earlier receiving the traditional Akoko leaf at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan. Rivers Assembly Resumes Sitting Six-month After, As Thousands Gather to Receive Fubara

By Efa Sunday  Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly are currently in an informal sitting session being presided over by Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, few hours after the emergency rule elapsed.  Speaker Martins Amaeehule An Order Paper for the day cited by Newspeak shows only one item, which is a Motion to Set Legislative Agenda for the Remainder of the Year for the 10th Assembly. Tinubu Lifts Emergency Rule in Rivers State, Fubara and Assembly Members to Resume Thursday

By Efa Sunday President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the suspension of the six-month state of emergency imposed on Rivers State, paving the way for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor Ngozi Nma Odu, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to return to their offices on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Tinubu made the announcement on Wednesday through a statement released shortly after his return from vacation. INEC Recognizes David Mark-led ADC leadership

This development followed a period of internal restructuring within the party, which culminated in the emergence of new national officers aimed at repositioning the ADC ahead of future electoral contests. Alongside Mark, other principal officers now officially acknowledged by INEC include Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Mani as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Professor Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as National Legal Adviser. With this formal endorsement, the ADC leadership is expected to commence a nationwide reconciliation and mobilisation effort, as the party seeks to strengthen its presence across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

FG Declares Sept. 5 Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Maulud Celebration

  By Efa Sunday  The Federal Government of Nigeria, has declared September 5 as a public holiday to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Maulud celebration. The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the holiday on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in a statement signed by Magdalene Ajani, permanent secretary of the ministry. Tunji-Ojo congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion. He urged all Muslim faithfuls to reflect on the prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance and compassion, adding that such values are critical to building a united and prosperous nation. Christ Followers Evangelical Ministry Flags Off 2025 Glorious Month Convention in Ibadan

Abiodun The 2025 edition of the annual “Glorious Month Convention” of Christ Followers Evangelical Ministry, also known as New Glory, commenced today, Monday, September 1, 2025, at the church auditorium located at Ilugusi Estate along Ojo Ekun Road, Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan. The month-long spiritual gathering, which runs from September 1 to October 1 every year, is renowned for its three major sessions; Morning Prayers, Fire Revival, and Powerful Vigil, designed to uplift worshippers spiritually and morally. This year’s theme is “Divine Restoration” (Idapada S’ipo) drawn from Joel 2:25. The opening session witnessed a packed auditorium as Lady Evangelist Bosede Jemiyo led the congregation in heartfelt praise and worship.
