Obanliku Council Boss Floats Subsidized Intra-State Transport Scheme

The Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, Chief Dr. Sunny Ayang JP in a bid to ease the cost of transportation for his people, on Monday February 24th, 2025, unveiled the official commencement of subsidized Intra-State Transport scheme. 


An official statement made available from the office of the Special Assistant to the Chairman on Public Transportation, Peter Ikwen Ololo says the subsidised air-conditioned transport options are now available for trips from Obanliku to Calabar for ₦12,000.  


The transport scheme code named "The Obanliku Riders", according to the release was the Chairman's initiative to tackle the transportation issues faced by the residents of Obanliku and nearby Local Governments Areas.  

The statement therefore encourages surrounding Local Governments, such as Ogoja, Yala, Bekwara, Boki, and Obudu, to utilise the vehicles at the same cost of ₦12,000 to reach their various destinations.  


Users concerned about the terminal can find locations below:-

1. Obanliku Terminal: Located at Amunga Junction, next to the police checkpoint.  

2. Calabar Terminal: Mary Slessor Road, between NNPC Filling Station and the Zoo Garden, with the park situated comfortably within the car stand.

Dr. Uma Ukpai, has officially announced his passing.  According to a statement released on Monday, signed by the family and titled “Glorious Transition,” Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai passed on to glory on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.  The family described him as “a faithful soldier of the cross” who dedicated over six decades of his life to fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching of the Word, and prophetic demonstrations of the power of God.    The statement added that his ministry impacted millions of lives and transformed destinies both within Nigeria and around the world.    The statement reads below: “With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the triumphant homegoing of Rev.
