Why C'River State Must Win 2027 Election Convincingly For APC

The 2027 presidential election will be a defining moment in Nigeria's political history. For Cross River State, it is not just another cycle of voting. It is a strategic opportunity to reposition the State at the centre of national influence and restore its voice in the politics of power. If there is any time for Cross River to rise, it is now. And the path forward is simple but powerful—deliver a convincing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

We cannot afford to be passive participants in the 2027 project. This is not the season for divided loyalties or lukewarm commitment. Cross River must come out strong, united, and intentional. The state must register a resounding win for the APC, not just for party glory, but to secure its rightful place at the table of national decision making.


It is no secret that States that deliver big wins are the ones that get big rewards. In politics, numbers do not lie. If Cross River wants to be considered for key federal appointments, infrastructural projects, and economic incentives, it must prove its worth at the ballot. A slim win will not cut it. We need to show dominance. We need to set the tone.


This is why the sitting governor of Cross River State must play his role with courage and clarity. He must take bold political decisions that will reposition APC as a solid and result driven party in the state. If that means removing and replacing underperforming national members, then so be it. The governor has the constitutional backing and political authority to determine who speaks for the State at the national level. And at this point, silence or inaction is not an option.


We cannot continue with leaders who lack electoral value. We cannot entrust our future to people who have no political base or connection with the grassroots. Anyone who is not contributing to the growth of the party should step aside. The 2027 election is not for decoration, it is for dominion.


The APC must put forward a team that can inspire confidence, mobilize votes, and deliver results. Loyalty must no longer be based on friendship, but on performance. The days of recycled names and dead political weight must end. This is the time to surround the governor with strategic thinkers, passionate mobilizers, and credible leaders who can make things happen.


Cross River has everything it needs to shine; human capital, natural resources, youthful energy, and a history of political relevance. What is needed now is direction, unity, and ruthless commitment to success.


A landslide victory in 2027 will open the door to renewed Federal presence in Cross River. It will give us stronger negotiating power when national resources are being shared. It will also make the presidency take our calls more seriously.


Let us not waste this moment. Let us not miss this chance. Let us speak loudly with our votes and prove to Nigeria that Cross River is not a spectator in national politics, but a major player.


This is not about pride, it is about purpose. The 2027 election is our moment to reset the narrative and reclaim our stake.

Dr. Uma Ukpai, has officially announced his passing.  According to a statement released on Monday, signed by the family and titled “Glorious Transition,” Rev.
