Christ Followers Evangelical Ministry Marks 15th Anniversary as Glorious Month Convention Climaxes in Thanksgiving
By Efa Sunday
It was an atmosphere of jubilation, gratitude, and divine fulfillment as the 2025 edition of the Glorious Month Convention of Christ Followers Evangelical Ministry, Ilugusi Estate, Off Alegun/Oleyo Road, Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan, came to a remarkable close on Sunday, October 19, 2025, with a Special Thanksgiving Service that also marked the 15th Anniversary of the ministry.
The closing service, attended by members, friends, and well-wishers, was nothing short of glorious. The congregation filled the church auditorium with songs of praise, dance, and testimonies of miraculous encounters experienced throughout the 31 days of prayer and fasting. Many worshippers shared inspiring stories of healing, breakthrough, and restoration through the ministry of Prophetess Esther Adebayo Adonai (JP).
In her heartfelt address, the General Overseer, Prophetess Adebayo Adonai, expressed deep gratitude to God for sustaining the church since its inception 15 years ago. She reflected on the ministry’s humble beginnings, acknowledging that the journey had not been without challenges.
“It’s not been easy,” she said, “but we thank God for the grace of perseverance and persistence bestowed on the leadership and members of this church. Just as parents pass through stages in raising a child, so has this ministry grown steadily in all areas. God has been truly good to us.”
The prophetess also used the occasion to admonish members to remain steadfast in their walk with God.
“I urge every member to stay faithful to this God. Anyone who keeps jumping from one idol worship to another will end in regret. Religious idolatry brings no good. God is faithful, but only to those who serve Him wholeheartedly,” she advised.
The event featured a soul-lifting message from the guest minister, Reverend Michael Olukunmi Odetoyan, pastor of God’s Mercy Miracle & Deliverance Church, who preached from 1 Samuel 30. He drew lessons from the story of David and the Amalekites, declaring prophetically that God would restore to His people everything the enemy had stolen.
“Just as David and his men recovered all, so shall everyone here recover whatever the devil has taken since the beginning of the year,” he proclaimed.
Rev. Odetoyan assured the congregation of God’s unwavering commitment to their progress, urging them to seek Him earnestly and serve Him faithfully.
Also speaking at the service, the Father of the Day, Mr. Samson Tunde Abiodun, gave thanks to God for the success of the 2025 edition. He noted that the presence of God was evident throughout the programme, describing the theme “Restoration” as a divine call to rededication.
“We all need to rededicate our lives to God,” he said. “There is no shortcut to divine blessings. When we acknowledge His wonders and serve Him fervently, He restores us completely.”
Mr. Abiodun also echoed warnings against “spiritual prostitution,” cautioning that God will not share His glory with any idol or mammon. He urged members to remain loyal to God alone, as unfaithfulness opens the door for the enemy to rob believers of their blessings.
The thanksgiving celebration featured vibrant song ministrations, dance offerings, and joyful testimonies that crowned the 31-day convention. As the curtains fell on this year’s edition, many attendees left the service renewed in spirit and strengthened in faith, looking forward to another year of God’s grace and divine restoration.
